Ryan VanWagenen's grandmother always told him to follow my dreams. She reached her dream of becoming a published novelist in the 1960s. She finished her first manuscript while she was pregnant with his mom, and publishers at that time wouldn’t even give her the time of day. Some of her close friends suggested she publish under a male pen name, but she wouldn’t give in. She felt her manuscript was a piece of her soul, and she wanted her readers to know the woman behind the words. Ryan VanWagenen's grandmother became a published novelist. The largest portion of the live music market is controlled by Live Nation, the largest promoter and music venue owner. Live Nation is a former subsidiary of Clear Channel Communications, which is the largest owner of radio stations in the United States. Creative Artists Agency is a large talent management and booking company.

Universal Music Group, Sony BMG, EMI Group (now a part of Universal Music Group (recording) and Sony/ATV Music Publishing (publisher)) and Warner Music Group were collectively known as the "Big Four" majors.
