Michelle Marie Heinemann is a highly regarded artist, musician, and philanthropist who has showcased her work on an international level.
Michelle Marie Heinemann is an individual who thrives on creative thinking and inspired imagination. An artist, trained pianist, and singer/songwriter, Heinemann shares her talents with the world across various mediums. Currently, her paintings are integrated into numerous private collections the world over, as her unique perspective as an artist has captured the attention of art collectors. Heinemann says of her expressionist style: “I paint solely from a subjective perspective, distorting the paintings significantly for emotional effect in order to evoke moods and ideas. My goal is to express meaning or an emotional experience rather than physical reality.”
In addition to her work as an artist, Michelle Marie Heinemann is a member of the board at the Diller-Quaile School of Music, which is situated on the upper east side of Manhattan. Heinemann lives in Manhattan with her husband, Jon L. Heinemann of The Heinemann Fund, and their two children. When not working on her artistic endeavors or spending time with her family, Heinemann spearheads the efforts of Blankets for Warmth, a non-profit organization that she founded to distribute blankets to the homeless. Additionally, she is a member of the National Arts Club and the National Portrait Society. Furthermore, she patrons the Whitney Museum, Young Collectors of the Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Library Fellows, the Metropolitan Museum, the Frick Museum, and the Museum of the City of New York.
Heinemann loves the culture of New York. As such, she looks forward to continuing to contribute to this city in a positive way.
Michelle Marie Heinemann attended La Sorbonne in Paris, France. She also studied at the Paris American Academy and the Arts Student League, which is located in New York, New York. The international experience that Heinemann accumulated during her educational endeavors allowed her to develop a unique artistic perspective—which has resulted in a prized painting collection that is sought after by numerous art collectors. In fact, her work is represented in private collections on an international level, as it has captivated the attention of individuals around the world.
Michelle Marie Heinemann has had her work displayed in many impressive locations, including the legendary windows of Tiffany & Co. on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and the Guggenheim Museum. Additionally, her work has been exhibited at Vered Gallery in East Hampton, Art Basil in Miami, and The Hotel Carl Gustaf on St. Bart’s. This recognition has come after years of experience on the art scene, as she debuted with a collected called Old Beauty Queens that was featured at Gallery 54 in Soho. This collection encompassed images of mature socialites and debutantes and was innovative in that it called upon a thick impasto technique to feature precious stones within the canvas. Rubies, diamonds, emeralds, and sapphires were all added to the collection to further emphasize the point of view that Heinemann was asserting.
While Heinemann certainly enjoys selling her artistic pieces, she has also donated her work to various causes. A dedicated philanthropist, Michelle Marie Heinemann leverages her talents to improve the lives of others in any way that she can. To date, she has supported the following organizations with donations of her work: Edwin Gould Services for Children and Families, Artrageous, Jeffery Modell Foundation, Jericho Project, Guggenheim, Women’s Association of Brick Church, Diller-Quaile School of Music, and Lighthouse International.
In addition to her donations of her artwork, Michelle Marie Heinemann has offered her time to help numerous organizations improve the quality of life of the individuals whom they impact. She has served on the board or as a committee member for: The American Cancer Society, The Central Park Conservancy, The Society of Memorial Sloane Kettering, The Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter, Strang Cancer Prevention, Jericho Project, The Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, Lighthouse International, The Diller-Quaile School of Music, Jeffery Modell Foundation, Fete De Swifty, Artrageous, and City Harvest.
Aside from her work as an artist, Michelle Marie Heinemann is a trained pianist who has two contemporary albums on the market. She believes that music is a wonderful way to express oneself and enjoy the talents of others, and she has long used this medium to share her ideas with listeners. Heinemann remade “Garden Party” by Ricky Nelson. Her recording reached number 13 on the Hot AC radio charts, and she has continued to pursue her passion for music in various ways since.
Although artistic endeavors have made up a great deal of Heinemann’s activity over the years, she is certainly dedicated to her philanthropic efforts, as well. In fact, she founded Blankets for Warmth. This non-profit organization serves to collect and distribute blankets to benefit the homeless population of New York City. Homelessness is an issue about which Heinemann believes strongly, and she has certainly done a great deal to improve the lives of individuals who are affected by this problem by providing them with blankets to help them stay warm during the cold nights for which New York City is known.
Heinemann has often encouraged other individuals to start their own non-profit organizations in order to support a cause in which they believe. She explains that, first, individuals should consider whether or not there is a need for the work that they are interested in completing. Once they have determined how, exactly, they can create a positive impact, Heinemann urges individuals to come up with a unique way in which to achieve their goals. For example, Heinemann knew there were plenty of soup kitchens in New York, so she decided to give blankets as a way to address an unmet need while contributing to the improvement of the circumstances of the homeless population.
Once a new non-profit organization is up and running, Heinemann asserts that it is important that individuals generate interest in its activity in order to make it successful. This means spreading the word about the organization via social media, community events, and other promotional tactics. In this way, running a non-profit is extremely similar to running a business, as non-profits rely on the support of others to thrive (much as businesses rely on sales).
The great thing about non-profit work, Michelle Marie Heinemann explains, is that it can be used to improve virtually any issue. Education, poverty, illiteracy, homelessness, joblessness, medical conditions, animal rights, children’s rights, and so many other issues can be addressed with non-profit activity. As such, Heinemann is a strong advocate for individuals who are interested in creating these organizations with the intent of improving the lives of others. She cautions, though, that individuals who want to start a non-profit should only do so if they are truly passionate about the cause and confident that they can create a positive impact on their community. Running a non-profit organization requires a lot of hard work, and Heinemann knows that individuals who are not completely dedicated to their efforts can quickly become burned out and lose interest in the organization that they have built.
Ultimately, Michelle Marie Heinemann has excelled in her artistic and philanthropic endeavors. As an artist, she has solidified herself as a highly sought after talent who produces work that resonates with art collectors. As a musician she has the ability to record albums that resonate with a devout following that propelled her to reach number 13 on the Hot AC charts and number 2 in Japan. Finally, as a philanthropist, she has both contributed to existing non-profit organizations and created her own in an effort to improve her community and the world around her. Through her contributions she has had the ability to create a positive impact on today’s society. Michelle Marie Heinemann hopes to continue to engage in all of these activities as she moves forward and is dedicated to both her creative and philanthropic work.
Michelle Marie Heinemann notes that she is certainly hopeful about the future of all of the areas of interest that she holds. First and foremost, in terms of art, she is dedicated to providing a wonderful example to other artists through her work. With so many different modes of art and expressions that can be made on canvas, in clay, and across other mediums, Heinemann is certain that artistic endeavors will continue to be highly prized by their collectors.
But there is one struggle that the artistic world faces—and this challenge is one that music faces, as well. Educational organizations have long offered programs in art and music, but budget cuts over the last few years have whittled these initiatives and, in some cases, completely eradicated art and music programs from schools. Michelle Marie Heinemann is greatly distressed by this issue and hopes that academic organizations will receive the financial support they need in order to provide the comprehensive art and music education that their students deserve.
In addition to improvements in education, Heinemann is hoping that she will see an increase in the attention that the homeless population receives from individuals who can provide them with the support they need. Her non-profit organization, Blankets for Warmth, will continue to distribute blankets to homeless individuals; however, Heinemann knows that these people face struggles that need a greater degree of support from government and other organizations in order to overcome homelessness. She looks forward to playing a positive role in this effort.
