Alikhani’s Early Work Experience
He got his first real start in his professional career in 1986 as a Senior Engineer with LSI Logic in San Jose, CA. He held this position for six years, then went on to become the IS Manager with ASAT in Fremont, CA in 1992. He spent the next four years here, leaving the company finally in 1996.
In 1997, he joined the Apollo Group at the University of Phoenix in San Francisco, CA as their IT Director. This position lasted until the turn of the new millennium, and Alikhani left in the year 2000. Additionally, a year before that in 1999, he became a part-time faculty member with the University of Phoenix in San Jose, a position in which he served for seven years until 2008.
Alikhani’s Work with Lexar, Inc.
After leaving his position as IT Director with the University of Phoenix in San Francisco, he joined Lexar, Inc. in Fremont, CA as the Director and General Manager of IT. Here he directed global technology operations for the publicly traded, $1 billion consumer electronics company through their period of rapid growth and their eventual acquisition by Micron.
With Lexar, Brian Alikhani proved instrumental in helping the organization successfully spin off from its parent organization as well as build out its technology. He also developed the company’s technology strategy and led the project delivery in preparation for their acquisition and merger.
On top of this, he oversaw the company’s IT operations encompassing their enterprise system implementations, solutions design, business application development, client/server migrations, process automation, and voice/data. He also led a team of 18 members, including contractors, IT professionals, software engineers, DBAs, supervisors, and leads.
Alikhani’s Work with Corsair, Inc.
He left Lexar, Inc. in August of 2006 to join Corsair, Inc. in Fremont, CA. Here he became the Director of Corporate IT and led transformative business initiatives to position this $650 million hardware manufacturing company as a strategic and respected business partner for key clients. This was accomplished primarily through a realignment of IT and business units as well as through many internal improvements.
Over the next four years, Alikhani spearheaded the company’s vision and strategy for technology, building an IT roadmap to directly support business growth in several countries across the globe. These included 12 distribution centers, five call centers, and hundreds of retail and e-tail locations.
Brian Alikhani was also in charge of directing continuous migration to constantly improve company systems, thereby enabling consistent achievement of same-day shipping SLAs. He also authored a strategic three-year technology plan to centralize all IT operations and standardize business technologies.
This position lasted until October of 2010, when Brian finally joined the AVID Center.
