It means that they have completed additional training and passed rigorous oral and written exams to prove their knowledge and competency. This certification is voluntary, so it shows her dedication and passion for her work.
In 2005, she became a physician owner at East Valley OB/GYN. She retained this position for the next three years, putting her medical skills to use and developing a more solid career. In 2009, she transitioned to a new position Goodman & Partridge OB/GYN as a board certified OB/GYN physician.
A Focus on Quality Measures
Although Dr. Heather Mangam loved her work as an OB/GYN, she was ready to take on new responsibilities and try her hand at something different. She took a great interest in quality and performance measures and their impact on physicians’ roles. In 2012 she assumed the position of senior director of clinical operations at Arizona Integrated Physicians.
Upon leaving this role, she took a position as a network advisor. She offers services that are related to consulting physicians about the Affordable Care Act. Her goal is to become a network advisor to help bridge the gap between quality measures and physicians. She wants to help them make better sense of how laws are changing and how it affects them.
