Jennifer Ortman began her career with an impressive education in music. Ortman studied oboe under acclaimed instructor Richard Kilmer at the Eastman School of Music. Here, Ortman honed valuable musical skills while gaining experience in musical performance.

Ortman was admitted into the University of Illinois as a music performance major. The University of Illinois awarded Jennifer Ortman a bachelor’s degree in music performance. Ortman pursued graduate studies at UCLA to increase her musical knowledge and performance skills.

Ortman soon realized that her musical talents could be used to provide valuable instruction to aspiring musicians. Jennifer Ortman was awarded a Master’s in Music Education from the University of Illinois, completing her extensive musical education.

Ortman kicked off her teaching career in Illinois. She took a position as a music instructor at Jefferson Middle School in Champaign.
