His extensive experience and use of conventional treatment modalities, coupled with the use of up to date cutting edge technology helps him to design a personalized treatment plan for each of his patients.

Dr. David Zelefsky’s uses an integrative approach to the treatment of pain. He and his staff use a multi disciplinary approach that utilizes traditional physical therapy modalities, chiropractic adjustments, medication, injections, interventional treatments and the latest cutting edge therapeutic techniques when indicated. Their goal is to restore maximal function, regain independence and improve quality of life to the people with disabilities. Having an office where patients can receive the necessary treatments under one roof eliminating the need to travel makes it an added convenience for the patients.

Physicians
The office has multiple physicians and a large ancillary staff all of whom are experienced in the care of patients who suffer from pain. Their years of experience and knowledge have helped them to become excellent doctors who understand how to properly diagnose and treat pain, tailoring the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient.

Physical therapy
Multiple physical therapists are available to carry out physical therapy modalities and to educate the patients on proper home exercise techniques, which is critical in the recovery of patients.

Interventional specialists
Interventional specialists are available to perform procedures that will augment the recovery and help those patients who are having more difficulty in recovering from their pain with standard procedures. These are in-office procedures, and include epidural injections, facet joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, and spinal cord stimulator placement, as well as minimally invasive surgical procedures.

Chiropractors
A staff of chiropractors are available to help patients with their spinal pain. This treatment option can be beneficial for people with acute and chronic pain.

Cutting edge platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections
In this cutting edge technique Dr. Zelefsky removes a small amount of blood from the patient’s arm. The nutrient rich platelets in the blood are then concentrated using a centifuge spinning technique. Afterwards, Dr. Zelefsky injects the PRP into the area where the patient is experiencing chronic pain. The patient’s own growth factors will then begin to repair any damaged tissue. Because the serum used in PRP is derived from the patient’s own blood, there is no risk that he or she will reject the treatment. Many patients who underwent this treatment have experienced significant relief from their pain after only a few weeks of receiving the treatment.

Breakthrough P-Stim therapy
P stim, which is also referred to as pinpoint electrical stimulation therapy, is a breakthrough treatment that is shown to alleviate certain types of chronic and acute pain without side effects. It has been widely used in Europe with favorable results. It has recently been made available in the United States. It is a kind of electronic acupuncture. In this type of treatment, a physician first inserts tiny, relatively painless needles into the earlobe of the patient. The doctor then attaches a small device that will send stimulating electrical impulses to certain reflex points on the patient’s ear. It is presumed that this low voltage current will cause the brain to release endorphins, which will help aching areas on the patient’s body to relax.

Non- surgical spinal decompression therapy
Non- surgical spinal decompression therapy has proven effective for treating conditions such as chronic pain, herniated or bulging disk, degenerative disk disease, posterior facet syndrome and radiculopathy. This simple technique is a popular alternative to back surgery because it is completely non-invasive. During a treatment session, a patient’s spine is gently stretched using a specialized harness and a motorized traction system. Stretching the spine in this way can help to alleviate pressure in the lower back over time, and may help bulging or herniated disks to realign.

Ultrasound guided injections
Ultrasound guided injections are used to help guide the placement of the needle and to accurately deliver the medication to where it is needed. Ultrasound does not use any radiation and can hep deliver the medication accurately, quickly and effectively in order to help reduce the patient’s pain.

Fluoroscopic guidance
Fluoroscopic guidance is also used to help in spinal procedure to accurately and safely bring medication to where it is needed without causing damage to vital structures.

Hyaluronate injections
Arthritis can often be a difficult condition to treat effectively. Often, people believe that the only way to rid oneself of pain is to undergo joint replacements. However, there are alternatives that can eliminate or delay the need for surgery. One such alternative is hyaluronate injection of the joint. Viscosupplementation with Hyalgan or similar
medicine, will often provide long lasting relief to the painful joint.

Diagnostic tools
Diagnostic tools are crucial to assessing a patient’s condition and include a complete medical history, a thorough physical examination, and when indicated, x-rays, electrodiagnostic testing, and vestibular testing for people with balance and vertigo problems.

Patient’s are expected to be proactive in their recovery. It is the patient’s responsibility to keep their appointments, do the home exercises assigned to them and stick to a routine for maximal and quick recovery.

Weight Loss
Weight gain and obesity can be a contributing factor to a patient’s experience of pain. Added stress on joints and the spine can add to the wear and tear of these structures.
By providing individualized programs to each patient, a person can shed their unwanted weight. This can lead to a more youthful physique with increased energy and stamina. Many of the possible symptoms of pain can diminish or be eliminated. Appearing in better shape also helps ones self image. Having a positive psychological outlook also helps in fighting the stress caused by chronic pain.
