Lawrence Auls

After working to serve disadvantaged areas of his community in Ohio, Lawrence Auls took his skills and applied them to business. In the early 70's, he founded Mainway Wholesale Suppliers, which supplied lamps and ballasts to factories and plants in the region. Soon he had hundreds of contracts and grew the business from a five thousand dollar loan to a million dollar per year business. Mainway Wholesale, with Lawrence Auls serving as the president, was featured in many publications, including Black Enterprise in 1975. This was just the first of many successful business ventures for Lawrence. He looks back on those days fondly.
