Philip Hsiao has recently accepted a position as Honors Attorney for the U.S. Postal Service Pacific Area Office, to begin in September 2014. Philip Hsiao also is proud to serve as an executive board member for a fast-growing organization that focuses on growing and building the nonprofit industry. Philip Hsiao is sitting for the California bar exam in July 2014.
While finishing his undergraduate degree at New York University, Philip Hsiao began full-time work in the world of academic administration. Philip Hsiao kept up in this line of work as he finished a Master's in Global Political Economy at New York University's Gallatin School. His Master's thesis, 資本主義の文法 (The Grammar of Capitalism), focused on the political economic realities of the Lehman shock as they were expressed through the American 2008 presidential election and Japanese 2009 general election. After finishing his graduate degree, Philip Hsiao transitioned to law school at the City University of New York School of Law, in order to start a career more actively focused on economic justice.
Philip Hsiao will continue building his career, working in public service. Philip Hsiao also hopes to be able to build on his significant international experiences, especially in Japan and France, to create a career that matches the realities of our current economy. In the next 10 years, Philip Hsiao hopes to extend his professional career into academia, teaching and researching on issues of global economy, American political economy, and law.
