Dr. Michael Friedman completed his pre-medical program at the prestigious Yeshiva University in New York in 1968 and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. In 1972, he received his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine followed by his internship at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. From 1973 to 1977 he served his residencies in Surgery and in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago and was certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology in 1977.

After completing his second residency, Dr. Friedman started in private practice in the Chicagoland area, where he has gained a highly respected reputation as a sleep specialist in Snoring and Sleep Apnea, and a leading expert in the fields of Ear, Nose & Throat for Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery, Head and Neck Cancer, and Nasal and Sinus Disorders . Over the past 30 years, Dr. Friedman has trained countless surgeons, fellows, residents and medical students and published more than 200 scientific articles. He has co-authored many book chapters and textbooks on snoring, sleep apnea, and thyroid and parathyroid surgery and was editor-in-chief for the past 14 years for Operative Techniques in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, a scientific journal that introduces the most current surgical techniques to the Otolaryngology community.
