Kendra Drozd, Wilton, CT mother, is a commissioned Stephen Minister and a passionately devoted family woman.
As a trained Stephen Minister, wife, and mother, Kendra Drozd, Wilton, CT, is devoted to helping her community and create the best home environment possible for her family.
While working professionally and being a mother, she decided to become a full-time mother to offer her children and family as much support as she could. She embraces the chaos and fun that comes along with being a full-time mom of three young girls, ages 10, 8, and 5, as well as a cocker spaniel, which includes volunteering at her children’s school, going on field trips, being a mystery reader, helping set up and oversee class parties, setting up and chaperoning play dates for her children, carpooling to their many activities, and simply enjoying time together at home or on family outings.
In 2012, Kendra Drozd, Wilton, CT mother, and her family moved from the greater Chicago area to Connecticut, where they became involved with camp, the local YMCA, their children’s schools, and their neighborhood. Since moving to CT, Drozd and her family have joined a local church, where her children are receiving religious education, are taking dance classes, and are learning tennis, gymnastics, and soccer.
As a Stephen Minister, Drozd has spent 50 hours training and will receive ongoing supervision and supplementary training approximately two-four hours each month. Thanks to this certification, she is trained in helping to care for those in crisis by meeting with them on a regular basis, listening to them, and praying with or for them.
Kendra Drozd was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago with her family, including an older sister. As a young girl, she was always very involved with activities like tennis, swimming, reading, and her church. She was highly engaged in Sunday school, as well as a youth group. In this youth group, she was introduced to a woman who would re-enter her life at a later age. She led Drozd’s group from fourth grade to high school, and eventually became a minister. After this, she married Drozd and her husband.
Kendra Drozd, Wilton, CT, has always had a special appreciation for the outdoors, and has spent many summers at camps as a camper, as well as a counselor, in both Michigan and Wisconsin. She has a love of helping others, which made the decision to become a counselor an easy one.
In 1990, Drozd graduated from New Trier High School, located in Winnetka, Illinois. As a student, she was a varsity tennis player and co-captain of the team. She was also treasurer of the Girls Club, a role she earned through election and a vote of confidence from the entire female student body of her high school. This organization was dedicated to raising scholarship money for female New Trier students, as well as engaging in a variety of other community-oriented activities.
Before graduating in the top 15% of her nearly 800 student class, she was accepted through early admission at Williams College, located in Williamstown, Massachusetts. She studied at Williams College and earned a bachelor’s degree in English, with a concentration in psychology in 1994. During her time as a student, the future Kendra Drozd, Wilton, CT full-time mother, was involved with many community activities, including playing on the varsity tennis team and volunteering at the Berkshire Farm for Boys. This organization provides therapeutic and treatment foster care for children up to 21 years old. It acts as a positive alternative to placement in a group home or other residential setting. She was also involved in Peer Health.
In addition to these community activities, she wanted to see the world. She participated in a study abroad program, where she studied in London during her junior year.
After her graduation, Drozd moved back to her home region, where she put her degree to good use. She worked in advertising for four years in account management, where she worked with globally known brands, including Pizza Hut, KFC, and Schlage Locks.
While working in advertising, the soon-to-be Kendra Drozd, Wilton, CT mother, decided to expand her education, and therefore applied and was accepted to the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Here, she majored in marketing, and she earned her MBA in 2000. While at Northwestern, Drozd’s passion flourished, and she volunteered for many groups and clubs. In these groups, she held key roles in leading and participating in a Global Initiatives in Management trip to Japan, and in mentoring first-year marketing students. To put her education to good use, she interned at Kraft Foods. Her internship was so successful that, upon completion, she was offered a full-time job in their marketing department.
While interning at Kraft, she worked on Cheez Whiz campaigns. Upon accepting a full-time role, the future Kendra, Wilton, CT, was asked to work on new products and Kraft Singles.
During graduate school at Kellogg, she met Tim Drozd, a fellow student and her future husband. They married in 2002.
Before becoming a mother for the first time, Kendra Wilton, CT, realized that her part-time or flexible working options were limited at Kraft. Soon after, she decided to leave Kraft and become a marketing recruiter—a position that allowed her to work from home.
Now, Kendra Drozd, Wilton, CT family woman, has three young girls, aged 10, 8, and 5, as well as a buff-colored cocker spaniel. She loves being a mom and, in 2009, decided to stay home full-time. She embraces all that it offers her, and what she can offer her loved ones.
While in this role, she is involved in many community activities, and has since become a Stephen Minister to help improve the lives of others.
Kendra Drozd has recently become commissioned as a Stephen Minister after dedicating 50 hours of training to help those in crisis. She aims to use this training to help those around her, by offering them support and prayer.
In 2013, she joined the Miller-Driscoll PTA executive board and currently holds the role of vice president of membership. She plans to use this role to help foster a sense of community and improve the educational experience of the children in her neighborhood. She believes that with this role, she has a unique ability to serve her community in a powerful way.
While Drozd misses having her extended family close by, she and her husband have forged strong friendships with other community members through camp, the YMCA, the local schools, and through the neighborhood. She hopes that these activities will continue to introduce her and her family to caring, genuine, loving people in her area.
Drozd and her family have also joined a local church, where she is actively engaged in the church community. As a Stephen Minister, Kendra Drozd, Wilton, CT mother, is passionate about her faith and is dedicated to sharing the gospel. One way she does this is by enrolling her children in religious education, where they better understand the role of the Bible in their lives.
In addition to these activities, Kendra Drozd, Wilton, CT, wants to create a well-balanced life for her girls, and has introduced them to tennis, dance, soccer, and gymnastics, where they can meet new friends, understand the importance of physical activity, and just have fun as children.
