A long-time Florida resident, he grew up in Illinois and attended Danville Area Community College, where he received an Associate of Arts degree in 1984. Then, in 1987, he graduated from the Police Academy in Lake Worth, Florida, as a basic recruit.
From there, Jay devoted himself to hard work in the field of law enforcement for a number of years. A full decade later, in 1997, he obtained his next big educational honor, winning a certification from The Public Safety Institute at the University of North Florida, located in Orlando. He specialized in Illicit Gambling, Bookmaking, and Loan Sharking Investigation.
A year later, Jay received forensic technique training at the Department of the Treasury in Glynco, Georgia. The same year, he completed a Drug Enforcement Seminar in Ft. Lauderdale, where he focused on Undercover Survival. The achievements kept coming from there, as he also completed special training from the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of the Treasury alike.
In 1999, Jay Hart received an Advanced Training Certificate from the Drug Enforcement Agency, focused on Narcotics Identification and Investigation. This training was completed at the University of Florida, in Gainesville. The same year found him completing an Introduction to Financial Crimes unit at the Miami Beach Police Department.
Clearly an accomplished police officer with a passion for advancing his knowledge and expanding his skills, Jay went on to complete further Pubic Safety Institute work in 2000. The following year, he completed a course in Instructor Techniques at Broward Community College.
Throughout all of this, Jay was also achieving at a high level in his professional life. He started his career as a deputy sheriff, focused on road patrol services, from 1987 through 1992. From there he went on to spend a year in the PBSO Mounted Unit, and then advanced through such ranks as Corporal, Field Training Officer, Agent, Lieutenant, District Commander, Executive Officer, and ultimately Captain. Hart has also chaired a number of police committees, including the Fallen Officer Memorial Ceremonies committee in Palm Beach County.
Throughout the course of his police career, Hart received a number of noteworthy awards. He was honored as Deputy of the Month a total of four times between 1988 and 1994. In 1994, he also received the honor of Field Training Officer/Corporal of the Month.
Jay Hart loves law enforcement and is passionate about public safety and security, but he has also had a longstanding interest in business ownership. He took some significant steps toward pursuing this interest in 2004, when he graduated from Barry University, in the Miami Shores area, with a Bachelors of Professional Studies. Two years later, he won his MBA from Lynn University, in Boca Raton.
