Stay away York is a place where management treats workers as disposable and as servants. They think the rules and regulations of the school don't apply to them. They believe any transgression on their part will be explained away by upper management. Some departments even do creative accounting. For example, in some classes, the faculty gets paid according to the number of students, but there have been cases in which some faculty gets paid for more students than they had. Some departments don't even have the money to pay faculty when they substitute others. There is a lot of favoritism and backstabbing going on, which many managers encourage or turn a blind eye.
