Unless you just enjoy constant drama and a gossip for a manager, I wouldn?t even consider working here.
Management, the nepotism, and lack of experience and education in interior design market. The company doesn?t listen to the customers. They say processes that have been causing problems for business (like delivery issues!) are getting fixed but months go by with no change leaving us feeling lied to and invaluable. Just read a few reviews on any site and you?ll see this has been a problem for years and is still not fixed... Constant quality issues. Totally unacceptable for the price point we?re putting on our products. If you express concern about any of this regardless what it is or how much you care about the company, you?re digging your own grave. I am not the first to say that either and I won?t be the last you hear it from, promise. No respect for employees with design degrees despite them being consistent in top sales and repeat happy clients. It looked promising this year when the company decided to invest in some design training for us, but the people directing this seem to have little if any experience on how to make that happen successfully. Sending two of the most unmotivated people on staff to a weekend seminar at SCAD doesn?t give them an interior design degree. It also was ridiculous that then the people who went on the trip came back trying to train people with actual design degrees on things they learned! With so many other retailers out there offering design services now, we seemed to just say ?well, let?s just say we can do this too and see how it works out!? Sending inexperienced employees to clients? homes to consult on design when they have no experience with this has proven to be problematic and just downright embarrassing. Customers write awful reviews, and this is a big reason why. Because the employee who told them that rug and sofa would look good together had only previously worked at a tile supply company or worked a desk job ordering furniture, so they really have no clue how to put colors together much less design a whole room or do floorplans. Then, customers want to return everything that did not work and they are charged a restocking fee and freak out on us! Corporate never visits, managers abuse their power and make stupid rules about dress code that don?t even exist but ignore people who don?t bathe even when other employees complain about the smell.
