Hawkins Delafield & Scrooge You will most likely work for an old white man who collects checks while delegating work to younger partners and associates. There is almost no diversity at the firm in any sense of the word. The firm is mainly controlled by a group of old white men who have very little regard for associates. There is a strong sense of dissonance among those not at the partner level, as everyone is underpaid and deals are unstaffed. If you want to be paid roughly 30-40% less than a big firm doing the same work (and billing around the same), then Hawkins is the place for you. The deals are understaffed so you can be attorney and paralegal at the same time. The bonuses don't scale based on class year, most offices require you to pay for half of your health insurance, and there is no contribution by the firm to your 401k. If you are looking for associate development, the partners will provide you very little feedback, including no feedback for reviews. There is no clear path to promotion.
