Learned a lot, but hated being in the office. Mentors were nasty. Best learning experience but also scarred me for life, and I am pretty tough. Zero training. Many partners were nasty and toxic. Opposite of a mentor, they either hated us, viewed us a threat, or were just plain mean. (We were 25 to 29 years old and they hired US. I still wonder Why?). 70 hours a week to keep up. Most associates quit after 1.5 years. Takes 30 years to make named partner unless lateral with portables. Most associates get the experience and move on. I always wondered if they wanted it that way to keep costs down.
