Fake SaaS Like other reviews have stated, the nepotism is rampant here, as is the fratty boys club. I've never worked at a company before where managers/directors/VPs were not only hiring their spouses and best friends to high-level roles, but also promoting them without tangible and explicit success metrics that were met. Diversity is a massive issue in this office; there's only a handful of people of color, not to mention a limited number of women in upper management level roles. When HR has been asked about this, they claim to be working on it but do nothing to show for this. Unified calls itself a "software as a service" company, but truly it is a digital ad agency disguising itself as a software/technology company. The majority of the revenue comes not from software subscriptions, but from percent of ad spend; the more clients spend, the more money Unified gets. It hires account/ campaign managers at low levels and low pay to make up for all the areas where the "single system of record" fails. The campaign/account managers are forced to work long hours to put together reports and other tasks that in theory are supposed to come out of the system, but do not because the platform isn't what clients think it is. And when it comes down to it, when these campaign/account managers have succeeded in their roles and proven themselves, there are few places to advance to. When certain ones have been promoted, the leads have failed to provide career guidance/training on how to be a manager. This results in a lack of direction and growth for all employees who report to the newly promoted manager. Unified also hires sales people who do not understand the online advertising space and social media, and so they "scold" us hard working account and campaign managers when mistakes get made and take on a "shame on you" attitude towards us. This results in a hostile relationship between sales and account/campaign management. In the time I was there, two companies were acquired, PageLever and Awe.sm. The company raved about these acquisitions and how much benefit it would provide to clients and perspectives. As of early 2016 when I left, almost all members from those teams have either left or been fired with the exception of one; there's no trace of either of those technologies integrated into the Unified "platform." It was a lot of hype and money wasted.
