Poor Freelance experience. Bad business ethics.
Outstanding payment. Questioning the legitimacy of Newzulu?s business ethics. Internal office conflicts affecting outside hires. Misguided timelines and expectations leading to non payment for work done to date and time spent. Written and verbal promises of payments, extended payment deadlines, continuous delays. Disrespectful justifications as an excuse for non-payment. False blame. A warning to all Contractors / Freelancers to be careful when working with this company. The problem here is that this company will not take accountability for the services completed and hours spent. This company does not know how to work with Freelancers. The amount owing is not detrimental, but it is the principal of hiring a Freelancer for an urgent last minute deadline with a less then 24 hour window. Asking someone to work over night to complete the project and then to completely dismiss the remaining payment. It's quite disappointing, however a learning experience nonetheless. This is an example of Newzulu's poor organization and ethics but also the complete and total disregard for respectable, hardworking professionals, who are ready and willing to help a Company meet an urgent request. If you would like to get paid for the time you spend on a project, might be best to go elsewhere. As the company does not understand the value of a Professional's time, skill and well being - willing to cut costs at any expense. Out of all the amazing Clients I have successfully worked with, this particular Client is the first to really shed light on the harsh realities of dodgy business ethics and processes.
