Terrible, just terrible Unbearable working conditions: the proprietor is a megalomaniac that has no respect for his employees or their time, the pay is the lowest in the industry, < 5 employee company so no chance at upward mobility, two coworkers run the gamut between boring and exceptionally awkward, and you could literally die from the chemicals you work with daily. Also, any task that is not related to being onsite at a client's facility (expense reports, weekly mgmt briefings, bringing the work truck into the service center, etc.), you're expected to take care of in your own time, outside of the M-F 8-5 work week. I suspect that the position is salaried so that Jentek can make these kind of demands and not have to pay extra due to hourly wage. No raises in the 3.5 years I was there, and my $500 Christmas bonus stopped after year 2 with no explanation. Two stories: 1) An account where I was working asked for a Legionella test one day, and I forwarded the request to my boss, who coordinates with the lab we use to set up tests of this nature (and actually, he insists on approving just about everything outside of normal account visits). Several months later, I got an email again requesting the test; apparently it had never been scheduled the original time. I forwarded this email on with a note of concern that we had not delivered on their previous request. A couple months later, I'm informed that we are no longer the vendor for this account and it had to do with not doing the Legionella test either time the stakeholder had requested. My boss flew into a rage, embarrassed me in the next staff meeting, and docked my pay. That's right, he docked me. I was not getting any commission for working on the account in question, but he started deducting from my commission report a percentage of what we would have received from the lost account. Makes no sense, right? His explanation: If you don't retain the accounts I hired you to service, how am I supposed to pay you 100% of your salary when less money is coming in. Never mind that it was his fault we lost the account. This type of thing happened all the time. 2) A coworker once asked me if I was worried about going to hell since I only go to church occasionally.
