Low morale. Low salary. All employees are considered easily replaceable and worthless. Upper management had ridiculous business plans. Nearly all mid-level managers that had any professionalism were forced out. The remaining unscrupulous managers and HR made for a very toxic working environment. Creative and logical thinking were extinguished while obedient thinking was rewarded. Current Stevens Point office management will do anything or say anything to keep their jobs, all at the expense of the workers and corporate revenue. No exaggerations there. It?s very unfortunate that some of the community purchasers of the now bankrupt F+W Media have chosen to keep many of these managers with their divisions. There is a reason why the company went bankrupt. It?s not their products and it?s certainly not the booming economy. The FW Books division purchaser Penguin Random House went through the process correctly and didn?t take any of the boat anchors. Likewise the Outdoors and Construction Trade divisions are free of the former F+W HR wrath. Their employee morale is very high and the new companies seem to be off to a great start.
