Although I would follow the General Manager anywhere, the CEO is mostly smoke and mirrors. Better leadership needed. Some managers are more interested in securing their own position of power over employees and programs than in technical progress. Opportunities for promotion are very few. Managers are in general not well trained. Particular managers make arbitrary decisions, do not respect their employees' intellectual gifts. Consolidating power appears to be more important than moving the company to selling product. Too much money is spent on outside contractors who deliver very little output compared to the in-house technical staff. The company has been pursuing commercial business that is never going to result in a real product. The company has a reputation in the business community of not having viable products, but taking a posture as if it does. Despite this, some of the substantial work on digital receivers CAN become commercial successes if the R&D is completed and the company develops better commercialization skills.
