Bad for Mechanical Engineers Mechanical Engineers are treated unfairly and as a "necessary evil." They are not respect and will often receive the blame my management. Nepotism and favoritism run rampant. There a groups that know each other from past companies and they make it known that you are not part of their club. Raises are scarce, and if you want to be known as a good employee, be prepared to work unpaid overtime and weekends. It is not uncommon to get yelled at for little issues even if you are not at fault.
