Constantly looking over my shoulder/office politics ruin experience Bar none the worst office politics I have ever experienced. For such a tiny organization, there is an insane amount of gossip, drama, and backstabbing. Alliances are formed and quickly broken. Trust between staff members is nonexistent. Petty disagreements turn into literal yelling matches. The CEO and COO are on power trips and make an absurd amount of money (source: public record IRS 990s form) compared to the rest of the staff. Organizational structure is VERY hierarchical and old-school. Upper management is ageist and constantly degrading "those darn millennials" who receive zero credit for their hard work and meeting/exceeding their goals. Benefits are laughable, especially the health insurance options, which is ironic considering NEBGH educates employers on best practices related to employee benefits.
