Just like all the other brokerages Flushed market, everyone is going after the poor elderly telling them that they dont want to be a financial burden to their loved ones after they die. You'll show up to one of your "leads" and be the third insurance agent who has showed up in the past week. The "leads." These people are sending in their information expecting to get mailed back some info on a free government benefit that will pay for their funeral. Then you show up and try to sell them something they already have that requires a monthly premium when the majority of the clientele we work with are only living on social security and cant afford a penny more. Not the best carriers. Were telling people were appointed with the insurance companies with the highest benefits and the lowest premiums which isnt true. They are decent but are not the best, then the next guy who shows up with a better carrier who can save them money will easily switch them over and you lose that business. Sketchy neighborhoods. Again the majority of people who want and are foolish enough to think the government will take care of all of their final expenses are in low income neighborhoods and can be dangerous. I have had my car spit on, threatened to get a gun pulled on me, seen prostitutes getting chased off street corners, and a lot more. Not the place I want to spend the majority of my time. Youre not paid commissions on the guarantee issue plans we sell for 5 years. Company policy. They hold onto those commissions for 5 years and will only give them to you if you stay with the company for a full year.
