Negligent Leadership and Poor Morale My time at CineMassive will go down as the most dissatisfying "professional" job of my career. The flat organizational hierarchy coupled with the glaring lack of leadership and professional experience in the "inner circle" completely cripples employees from contributing to the company and affecting any sort of change or impact. Any work that you do, feedback you provide, or ideas for improvement that you bring to the table require approval/acknowledgement from both of the co-founders to move forward. They never agree on the same ideas and they are almost never willing to put resources behind any of their employees' projects. All of the problems with working at CineMassive stem from three things: 1. The co-founders, David Minnix and Robert Kaufman, do not get along with each other and will not agree to move forward on any ideas to improve the business that are not their own. Because they do not collaborate, no ideas for improvement are shared and everything ends in indecision. This extends from menial decisions to the strategic plan that should be guiding the business for the next 1-5 years - they don't even know what sort of company they want to be or how they want to operate 2. The co-founders, David Minnix and Robert Kaufman, have no professional work experience, save CineMassive. They are experts at their product and market, and grossly ineffective at working with people, motivating employees, responding to change, or growing a business 3. The paper-thin layer of "management" that sits between 90% of the workforce and David and Robert are placaters who at best are capable of mediating arguments between the co-founders but completely lack the bandwidth, leadership skills, or professional knowledge to get anything done Lastly, they will openly discuss former employees of the company in a negative manner in conversation and meetings for years after they leave. It's obviously a defensive and petty move that comes from a place of self-consciousness, and is incredibly rude and grossly unprofessional.
