Sorry - Not a good place. HOSTILE WORK ENVIRONMENT - The managers lie about what's going on in the office to the managing partners so that they think they have the staff and attorneys under their control. The staff sabotages each other under the direction of the managers. They think its fun to play employees against each other and make up stories about each other. They actually encourage the staff to bully each other, its how they entertain themselves because there's not enough work to do. They have budget issues so if you need office supplies, if there's a big document production, or if there's a need for refreshments for a client meeting, tough luck! Don't bother asking for training or guidance, the managers don't want you to do a good job because they don't do a good job either. They don't want you to steal their job. THE BOTTOM LINE - They only care about themselves. The accountant/office manager doesn't speak English very well and relies on the other manager to do employee reviews because she doesn't have a sophisticated vocabulary. (LOL - Don't tell the Managing Partner!) The Associates get burnt out so badly after 2 years, the firm should be called the revolving door. They basically have employee retention issues and can't hold on to staff or Attorneys for more than 2 years. The attorneys get humiliated in front of everyone by the senior partner. It's very embarrassing and uncomfortable. You also have to babysit the people in the office by knowing/asking/announcing where they are and have been. It's pretty annoying. The employees can't even get a lunch break without the SP complaining about it! Every time someone takes a lunch break, the SP loses it and calls them back to the office. The computers/printers don't really work too well either, especially when there's a document review or complaint/brief going out. Don't bother complaining about it or trying to understand how software works, you will never know how anything works because no one cares about anything. Basically, they don't want to show you or make sure you do a good job. I wouldn't recommend working here, its really frustrating when you want to learn and grow with a firm. They don't care about cultivating a team environment. Anything positive that you hear from an HR recruiter is a lie!
