Use Caution Have you ever read the book Good to Great by Jim Collins? If you have or have not, search "Flywheel vs Doom Loop". Working at Access Medical is like being perpetually caught in the Doom Loop when the CEO believes he is creating a fly wheel. - I agree with one of the previous reviews that the management team is given one direction and then the CEO changes his mind the first chance he gets. -The CEO cares only about people he deems to be "producers" and no internal staff are considered to be producers. -You are only given 5 days of vacation time a year and you get 6 holidays off. The CEO does not even list Christmas eve as a day the company is closed because he likes to "gift" those days so he looks like he is doing something for the employees. -The CEO cares about his ego and nothing else. It is all about how he looks. He will throw a big Christmas party so he looks good and yet he will have credit holds from his manufacturers. - Constant credit holds from manufacturers - Has a hard time making payroll and has asked some employees in the past to delay cashing their checks because there is no money. - The comment someone made about a pay raise is pretty spot on. 3, 4, or 5% and the CEO does what he can to not give raises. If you don't ask for your review you don't get one and even then it takes forever. -The CEO takes an abnormal amount of time off and expects everyone else to be at the office working. Ex: days schools are closed he will be off with his family but no one else gets the day off unless they want to use vacation time (presidents day, veterans day etc.) -The CEO will use "the board" excuse when he does not want to give a raise or not do something. The board said... Because of "x" or "y" the board will not let me do... We are doing layoffs because "the board" said... -There are no quarterly or monthly reports to said board and they will get the information the CEO wants to give them which is skewed. -All in all, working at Access Medical is like being in an abusive relationship. It is not uncommon for the CEO to rail on you, make some people cry, and then he comes groveling back a day or two later asking for forgiveness. If you search for "the abuse cycle" and look at the images, this is exactly what it is like working with and for the CEO.
