They have no HR dept and care very little for what HR does in any meaningful way. They offer zero onboarding (not w/your boss, not with key co-workers). I wasnt given an opportunity to shadow or learn from anyone. On day 1, I was expected to know the firm and my boss as if I had worked there for years even though I wasn?t even provided a staff contact list after requesting it. They have zero tolerance for not being able to adjust immediately and ?figure it out? on your own so you will not have a chance to acclimate to the firm culture before they start harshly judging you. My random comment and attempt at water cooler conversation w/a coworker after working 10 hours "long day, wow I'm tired" was perceived as not wanting to work hard. I was accused of playing candy crush on my cell phone on my first day (who does that?). They dont have an IT dept and the tech issues I experienced were perceived as me being not tech savvy. They have horrible benefits, one unisex bathroom, no 401k and limited health coverage. They don?t even have a color printer and I didnt even have an assigned desk (no room for that sorry new hire). And lastly the office is in an embarrassing state of disrepair, just a very off-putting and dirty space and totally cluttered like a garage in front of reception entrance.
