Does not have to be Good, just Good Enough On paper ICT is an amazing place where a lot of really cool things happen. In practice... This is not the place to go if you want to get something done. Everything moves at a snails pace, and management seams happy to keep it that way. Most managers care more about getting funding for next year than actually being productive. Everything is about kicking the can a little further down the road and showing incremental successes so they can justify another year or two of funding. It does not have to be good, just good enough. Way to much politics. - You are working in Academia with the Military being one of your primary funders. Everything is political. Little to no chance for advancement - If you don't have a PHD, you will not last long. NO job security. Most workers are on 3-6 month contracts, but funding can dry up an any time and you could be gone.
