I spent about a year working in the Defender organization under Troy. I joined Troy’s team from inside the company after being a member for about five years. As I later found out, I was given false impressions about how working under Troy truly was during the team interview process. In addition to, there were several projects mentioned that were available I could choose to work on after starting. After My first month this also turned out to not be true, and I spent countless hours trying to get an understanding as to what the direction of the team is during this time. In essence, I went from enjoying being at Microsoft, to not enjoying my position at all. Transparency is non-existent with Troy. I found over time that during private meetings Troy will lash out at others and berate them over any topic he pleases. Motivation on the team is also completely lacking as there is not a clear direction. Never admits to being incorrect. Numerous times he has tried to take credit for work that I had completed, and numerous times I had to publicly call him out on it. If I had to categorize Troy into one word, it would be a narcissist. Overall, I am disappointed in how some Microsoft employees are allowed to be managers when they have proven themselves to not be efficient managers. https://www.linkedin.com/in/davistroy
