After graduating from USC, Stephen Epstein began his career in real estate with a small development firm. He managed over $150 million in student housing construction projects. Following that, he spent a year working for a different student housing firm before accepting a position as an acquisition analyst at a sizable private equity real estate fund. Working on transactions worth over $300 million at the private equity real estate fund helped him hone his skills in asset allocation, formal underwriting, fund administration, and other institutional roles.
Epstein's real estate career started shortly after he graduated from the University of Southern California. His professional journey began at a boutique real estate development firm. The firm was responsible for over $150 million in student housing projects. He later went on to work for another student housing developer. That was before accepting an acquisition analyst position at a global private equity real estate fund a year later. It was here that he honed his asset allocation, formal underwriting, fund management, and other crucial institutional skills. During his time at the private equity real estate fund, Epstein worked on transactions worth over $300 million. He left this role in 2007, temporarily exiting the real estate field.
Stephen enjoys various personal hobbies, including partaking in philanthropic work in his local community. His other interests range from international travel to sailing and kiteboarding. He has donated to Applied Scholastics, a reading and literacy program for children, and donates to Truth About Drugs, a non-profit supported by hundreds of thousands of other Scientologists.
