For the typical college student today, many challenges and stressors can make it difficult to excel in the classroom. This can be even more difficult for those who also play sports, volunteer, or have other activities. One individual who has excelled in the classroom and on the football field and still has had time to give back to his community is Ayden Hector.
Early Academic Success
From a young age, Ayden Hector has shown a remarkable aptitude for academics. He spent four years as a student at Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, WA, where he consistently earned a place on the honor roll. His impressive high school journey culminated in his graduation from a top local high school in 2020. During his time at Eastside Catholic, Ayden not only excelled academically but also pursued a well-rounded education, regularly volunteered, engaged in various activities and sports, and gained proficiency in several Microsoft programs. His athletic prowess was also evident as he earned multiple all-state player recognitions.
Ayden Hector Pursues Higher Education
Following his graduation from Eastside Catholic High School in 2020, Ayden Hector embarked on a journey of higher education. He is currently enrolled at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO, where he found a natural fit due to his passion for the outdoors and the picturesque mountain landscapes of the region. Despite his love for the local community and the surrounding mountains, Ayden remains unwavering in his commitment to his studies, majoring in business. He is on track to graduate early in December 2023, thanks to his dedication to academic success.
Success on the Football Field
While Ayden Hector has achieved academic success, he has also left an indelible mark on the football field. As a member of the Colorado State Rams football team, he continues to channel the passion for the sport he developed in his youth. Playing as a defensive back, Ayden received all-conference honors, an extraordinary accomplishment given that he played in only seven games during the 2022 season. That season, he emerged as a clear leader and star of the defense, amassing 24 tackles and three interceptions. His standout performance on October 7, 2022, included eight tackles, an interception, and a memorable touchdown return. With three years of eligibility left at Colorado State, Ayden Hector eagerly anticipates another successful season in 2023, contributing to the program's growth.
Giving Back to the Community
Beyond his academic and athletic achievements, Ayden Hector has always prioritized giving back to his community. Throughout his four years at Eastside Catholic in Washington, he ran an organization called B.Box, dedicated to delivering birthday boxes to teen homeless shelters each month. Today, Ayden continues to deliver B.Boxes and has established a partnership with Colorado State University's on-campus food pantry, ensuring that monthly deliveries continue.
Ayden has a long history of volunteering in the community, including his involvement with Pick 6, an organization teaching kids to play flag football while emphasizing leadership, healthy habits, and self-confidence. He also supports Relay for Life, a cancer-fighting organization, and actively aids people experiencing homelessness through the Tent City organization. For his unwavering commitment to the community, Ayden Hector received recognition as a nominee for the "Man of the Year" award from the All-American Bowl. This honor is bestowed upon a select few who make a meaningful impact in their community, particularly among struggling and homeless youth, a testament to Ayden's dedicated work with B.Box.
Interests Outside of School
Amidst his busy academic and extracurricular commitments, Ayden Hector still manages to find time for his interests. He cherishes moments spent with family and friends and partakes in a range of outdoor activities, from skiing in the winter to water skiing at a local lake during the summer. Additionally, Ayden keeps active by playing basketball.
