Georgiy Balyuk, born on July 22, 1999, in Ukraine, moved to the United States with his family at the age of three. Growing up in the suburbs north of Chicago, he now lives in Canton, Georgia. He is currently a software engineer at State Farm, a position he has held for nearly two years, and he is passionate about his work with cloud scaling technologies, artificial intelligence, and neural networks.
He is furthering his education at DePaul University in Chicago, pursuing a Master’s in software development. Consistently recognized on the Dean's Board, Georgiy anticipates completing his studies in the fall of 2025.
Before his current role, Georgiy Balyuk was employed at Fiserv Inc. in Alpharetta, Georgia, from August 2021 to April 2023. His work involved developing scalable Java/Spring applications based on micro-service architecture patterns and implementing best coding practices within a CI/CD environment. His focus on automation, supporting high-scale pipelines, and enabling rapid cloud deployment honed his technical skills significantly.
Since April 2023, he has worked at State Farm in Sandy Springs, Georgia. In this role, he designs and develops advanced AWS architecture solutions, enhancing system performance and scalability. His contributions include creating an internal application monitoring platform that has significantly improved system reliability and optimized operational workflows. He frequently works alongside cross-functional teams to deliver innovative cloud solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce company costs.
Georgiy holds an Oracle Java SE 8 (OCA) certification, which proves his proficiency in Java programming, covering object-oriented principles, core syntax, and essential APIs like collections and streams. This qualification underscores his capability in managing modular applications, exception handling, and functional programming.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Georgiy has led several programming projects, including developing a car rental service website and a restaurant data management system. He also co-developed an internal configuration adapter that connects different platforms.
Outside his professional activities, he enjoys traveling and exploring different cultures and cuisines, particularly appreciating the local flavors of Savannah, Georgia, and Houston's diverse food scene. He is a knowledgeable financial market enthusiast, providing investment advice to friends and family. Georgiy also enjoys spending time with his Samoyed, engaging in outdoor activities, having a keen interest in film and TV, and collecting Pokémon cards.
