Cory Simmons has been practicing law for over 17 years, specializing in civil litigation, particularly in business disputes, contract issues, and securities cases. Throughout his career, he has represented clients in challenging commercial litigation matters and is widely respected for his courtroom expertise across Florida and Georgia.
Born in Florida on July 31, 1980, Cory Simmons, an Atlanta Attorney, earned a Bachelor’s in Philosophy and Theater from Florida State University. At FSU, he participated in several leadership programs and was honored as a Florida Bright Futures Scholar. After completing his undergraduate degree, Cory attended Florida Coastal School of Law, where he became known for his academic skills and passion for the legal field. He was a member of the Moot Court Honor Board. He excelled in mock trial competitions, winning the National Moot Court Competition in 2005 and being named Best Oralist in the Prince Evidence Competition in 2006.
After graduating with his Juris Doctor in 2007, Cory Simmons began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida. He prosecuted various cases, from misdemeanors to serious felonies, and handled 18 trials, securing 12 guilty verdicts. This role helped him gain experience in all aspects of litigation, including case preparation, motions, and courtroom representation.
In 2009, Cory shifted his focus to civil litigation and joined The Law Offices of Robert Shafer & Associates as a Senior Associate. He worked on various civil cases, including criminal defense and personal injury claims, managing more than 70 depositions. Later, he moved to Baumann, Gant & Keeley, P.A., where he handled high-profile cases, such as a construction defect dispute involving 26 active parties.
In 2016, Cory Simmons joined Morgan & Morgan P.A. as a Lead Attorney and Partner in the Business Trial Group, overseeing commercial litigation in North Florida and Georgia. He managed multi-million-dollar cases, including a pharmaceutical patent dispute worth over $20 million. His success earned him the recognition of "Attorney of the Year" in 2015.
In October 2024, Cory became the Managing Partner at Spizzirri Law, LLC, a boutique commercial litigation firm in Metro Atlanta. He continues to manage high-stakes litigation and lead the firm’s operations there.
Outside work, Cory Simmons gives back to his community through volunteer work with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Florida and JASMYN. He enjoys hiking and playing softball, maintaining a balanced personal and professional life. Cory Simmons continues to be a respected attorney and community member.
