Anais Amin is a dynamic professional based in Los Angeles. She is skilled in journalism, marketing, and community service. She earned her Master's degree in Journalism from Columbia University, and she uses her expertise in media and advocacy to promote social justice and effect positive change.
Anais was born and raised in Los Angeles and pursued higher education at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English. At UCLA, she was deeply involved in student government, holding one of the 14 council positions available, representing over 30,000 undergraduates. In this role, she championed social justice, increased access to higher education, and improved mental health services for veterans, leading a team of 40 volunteers to promote these initiatives. She also moderated a political debate among U.S. House of Representatives candidates.
After her undergraduate studies, Anais advanced her education at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where she completed her Master of Science in 2020. Her focus was on multimedia journalism, and her capstone project included a 5,000-word article about a Syrian refugee family's resettlement in the U.S., complemented by a published story detailing her family’s escape from genocide and a video project on medication-assisted recovery.
While at Columbia, she also took on investigative reporting in the Bronx, covering civil and criminal courts. Her reports included stories of sexual abuse in Orthodox schools and the excessive use of force by private security personnel.
Anais started her professional career in radio production, initially as an intern and then as a production assistant at Marketplace, an award-winning public radio program produced by American Public Media. Her tenure there spanned from June 2021 to December 2022, during which she researched and pitched stories, pre-interviewed guests, and edited audio segments. Additionally, she worked at KPFK Radio 90.7 FM from 2017 to 2019, producing segments on various academic and scientific topics.
As a Marketing and Brand Manager for a fashion manufacturer, Anais manages multimillion-dollar accounts and leads marketing initiatives. Previously, she was an executive assistant in a dental lab and a PR and marketing intern at The Borgen Project, focusing on global poverty reduction.
Anais is committed to volunteerism, contributing her time to animal shelters and a horse ranch for special needs children. She is also a talented oil painter and photographer, activities that allow her to express her creative side. She enjoys spending time outdoors, visiting museums, and exploring new cultures. She is fluent in Armenian and English and works on her Spanish skills.
