During his time there, Chapin noticed business owners' challenges when selling their companies, especially those with little or no experience. Many owners were overwhelmed by the influx of buyer inquiries and uncertain which options to consider. Chapin realized there was a gap in the market for an advisory service that worked solely for the business owner without charging any upfront fees.
To address this, Chapin founded 48North with a model that ensures no financial risk for business owners. Unlike many advisory firms that charge fees upfront, 48North only collects compensation from the buyer once a deal is completed. This fee structure ensures that the business owner’s best interests are always at the forefront, without the burden of upfront costs.
48North provides buy-side advisory, capital raising, and succession planning services.
