Don Brent Wensauer is an accomplished independent real estate professional and the founder and president of Property Management Services, Inc., based in Oklahoma. Alongside his real estate career, he is a seasoned attorney dedicated to nearly 45 years of practicing law. His career reflects his strong work ethic, commitment to personal growth, and passion for positively impacting his industry and community.

Don began his academic journey at Northwest Classen High School, where he actively participated in various extracurricular activities. He was a debate team member, earned a letter in wrestling, and was recognized as an outstanding athlete in his senior year. Although many of his peers chose to attend Oklahoma State University, Don decided to enroll at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. After spending two years there, Don briefly lived in Dallas before moving to Sebastopol, California.

It was in California that Don experienced a defining chapter in his life. He lived in a commune on an estate once owned by Charles Schulz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. During his time in California, Don worked as a grape picker in Napa Valley, an experience that gave him a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by migrant workers and exposed him to the realities of the working class. This experience left a lasting impact on Don, shaping his perspective on life and work.

While Don aspired to continue his education at the University of California, Berkeley, financial constraints led him to return to Oklahoma. He enrolled at Southern Nazarene University, majoring in philosophy and religion. He later continued his education at the University of Oklahoma’s College of Law, earning his law degree. While in law school, Don worked graveyard shifts at freight docks, further developing his work ethic and strengthening his ties to the working class.

After earning his law degree and being admitted to the Oklahoma Bar Association, Don began practicing law. However, his entry into real estate investment, partnering with his father, would become a defining part of his professional life. Don’s real estate career started positively but he faced significant financial challenges when the Oklahoma oil and real estate markets crashed. With millions of dollars in debt, Don faced the difficult decision of filing for bankruptcy. Instead, Don dissolved his partnership with his parents to protect their assets.

Rather than filing for bankruptcy, Don worked tirelessly with creditors to negotiate repayment terms. Over time, he successfully repaid his debts and began rebuilding his real estate portfolio. Today, Don manages a real estate exchange fund, overseeing large residential portfolios and converting them into commercial properties. His work involves identifying investment opportunities, making offers on high-value properties, and managing the complex process of tax-deferred exchanges.

Don’s work in real estate is demanding and requires strategic decision-making, a high level of expertise, and the ability to manage risk. He thrives in this high-pressure environment and finds great satisfaction in its challenges. His ability to make well-informed decisions and adapt to market changes has been key to his success.

Throughout his career, Don has earned several academic and professional achievements. He received the Presidential Honor Award while earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and religion at Southern Nazarene University. At the University of Oklahoma’s College of Law, Don earned a place on the Dean’s Honor Roll. He is an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the American Bar Association, underscoring his dedication to his profession.

Beyond his professional life, Don is also deeply committed to giving back to his community. He volunteers regularly at First Step, a local drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, and participates in the Behind the Walls ministry, which serves incarcerated individuals in Oklahoma. Don is also a member of AMBUCS, a civic organization that donates therapeutic tricycles to disabled children and veterans, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive difference.

Don’s interests reflect his diverse passions. He has a long-standing interest in residential architecture and design and recently built his dream home on a lakeside property. His design choices were inspired by the architectural styles he admired in Naples, Florida. Don also enjoys various outdoor activities, including snow skiing, snowboarding, hiking, skydiving, scuba diving, and motorcycling. His love for motorcycling dates back to his years in Texas and remains one of his favorite hobbies. In addition to these activities, Don has a collection of contemporary art, timepieces, and classic muscle cars, showcasing his diverse tastes.

Don Brent Wensauer’s life story is one of perseverance and resilience. From his early experiences in California to his current success in law and real estate, Don has overcome many challenges and built a career marked by determination and hard work. As he approaches 45 years in the legal profession, Don continues to inspire others with his unwavering commitment to his work and dedication to helping others. His professional and personal accomplishments serve as a reminder that anything is possible with perseverance and a strong work ethic.
