Denette Dunn is a seasoned sustainability expert and public speaker known for her dedication to public service. She previously served as a vice mayor and is currently a council member for the Pine District.
As a council member, Denette established the Pine Citizens Advisory Committee to address her district's needs and concerns. The committee has grown to over 100 members, including residents and public officials, showcasing her ability to create a collaborative and engaged community.
Dunn brings valuable experience from the private sector, where she worked as the Municipal Services Manager at Republic Services. She managed over $85 million in municipal contracts across the southwest region in this capacity. Additionally, she served as a registered lobbyist, working to pass legislation that fostered positive partnerships between private companies and municipalities.
Her leadership extends to numerous boards and commissions, including the WESTMARC Board and the Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission. Denette also served as president and legislative liaison for the Arizona Recycling Coalition, where she focused on advancing environmental sustainability initiatives in the state.
Before entering public service, Denette held various marketing, sales, and management roles. From 2007 to 2011, she worked as the Director of Marketing and Community Relations at Hudson Baylor Corporation, where she managed material recovery operations and developed public relations strategies. She also worked to build relationships with municipal and state officials and played a key role in securing grants and sponsorships to support the company’s initiatives.
Dunn’s career continued at Republic Services, managing municipal contracts and supporting industry legislation. Later, at Dickson Sweeping, she helped expand the company’s operations in Arizona and Nevada, contributing to projects such as developing compressed natural gas fuel stations.
Since 2019, Denette Dunn has served as a Peoria Council member, working to support the city’s growth and sustainability. She also actively supports charitable organizations, including Hart Pantry, West Valley Connect, and You Matter Too, an anti-bullying nonprofit.
