Aristotle Halikias is an experienced businessman who not only helps to run several family businesses and other organizations, but is also committed to supporting Greek culture.

Throughout the years Aristotle Halikias has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience in the business world. He has become very active in the Chicago community through his involvement with his family’s businesses and his own ventures. Aristotle currently serves as the chairman of the board of Republic Bank of Chicago. He oversees the general operations of the bank ensuring that things run smoothly and the company continues to grow and prosper while providing quality service to its members. Aristotle is also the president of the Inter Continental Real Estate & Development Corporation, a company that he has worked for since 1988. Relying on his business and management skills and experience, he oversees a wide variety of operations at the company, managing all aspects of real estate development.
One thing that has always been important to Aristotle Halikias is his Greek heritage. He is actively involved in many organizations that promote and protect the Greek culture. His family established the National Hellenic Museum, a facility designed to preserve and share Greek history and culture. He serves as the Museum’s vice-chairman of the board. He also helps to run the Halikias Family Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the Hellenic arts and culture not only in Greece, but throughout the United States. Proud of his heritage, he also participates in many activities through the Greek Orthodox Church to support Greeks in the community. Halikias is committed to bettering the lives of others though his work for these various organizations both professionally and personally.

Aristotle Halikias has built a strong foundation for himself in business, management, and marketing. He graduated from DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois, with degrees in both business management and marketing, with an emphasis on real estate. This education has served him well as he has taken on leadership roles with various companies. It gave him a basis on which to expand upon, allowing him to become more confident and skilled in his abilities.
Developing the Banking Business
One of Aristotle Halikias’ areas of responsibility is with Republic Bank of Chicago. As chairman of the board, Aristotle oversees the general operations of the bank, ensuring that it makes wise investment and management decisions. What once started out as a small community bank has grown to include 16 branches throughout the Chicago area. This allows more convenience for customers because they are almost always within close proximity of a branch office. Not only does the bank provide personal banking options for its members, it also serves the businesses in the community and meets their needs as well.
Understanding that the needs of clients vary, the bank offers a wide selection of services from different types of accounts to multiple loan options. Members can get assistance with many aspects of their finances, and have the ability to manage their accounts and pay bills online. The bank offers creative financial solutions to meet the needs of their clients. Through his experience in business management, marketing, and real estate, Aristotle Halikias helps to ensure that the bank continues offering necessary services to meet the growing and changing financial needs of the community.
Dedicated to the Family Business
The Halikias family owns and operates several different businesses throughout the Chicago area. Each one serves a different purpose and supports the local community. One of these companies is the Odyssey Country Club. It is a facility that is open to the public for special events such as weddings, reunions, baby and bridal showers, fundraisers, and other gatherings. It also features one of Chicago’s top 15 public golf courses.
Aristotle Halikias and his family have helped to make it a premier wedding location, providing personal attention and service to clients, helping them to plan the details of their special day. The grounds are well kept so that they create a picture-perfect backdrop for wedding ceremonies and photos. There are also several indoor rooms that can accommodate parties of various sizes and can be decorated to match any theme.
For those coming to spend the day golfing, they can play on a challenging 18-hole course that was designed with help from two-time U.S. Open Champion Curtis Strange. There is also a driving range that is open year round for practice. Additionally there is a bar and grill on the premise where golfers or the public can come enjoy dinner or drinks.
Odyssey Fun World is another endeavor that Aristotle Halikias and his family undertook. What started out as one location has grown into two and gained much popularity. These family fun centers feature activities for children of all ages to enjoy. They can bounce, climb, play, and explore the day away. At Tinley Park there is even a Kidz Adventure Park filled with inflatable houses and slides. For those looking to test their skills, each facility offers laser tag where family and friends can battle in a fun lights-out mission to take over the other team’s area. At the Naperville facility there are also outdoor paintball fields.
For further enjoyment families can make their way to the Odyssey Farm World where Aristotle Halikias and his family have set up a 15-acre corn maze and pumpkin patch. There is a play area, hay rides, pig races and a petting zoo as well. The entire family can find something to enjoy.
Focusing on his Greek Heritage
Aristotle Halikias is very proud of his Greek background and does what he can to support the Greek community. In an effort to preserve Greek culture and its history and educate others, the Halikias family founded the National Hellenic Museum. Aristotle serves as the vice-chairman of the board. He previously served as chairman from 2005-2011. He helped the museum to grow and expand so that more people could take advantage of all that it had to offer. He oversaw the planning and construction process of building a new facility that incorporated many “green” elements as well as historical architecture. His marketing skills were valuable as he helped to raise the funds necessary to complete the project.
The museum features permanent and temporary exhibits that showcase various aspects of Greek culture and history. It also offers a wide range of classes and programs for the community to participate in. As executive director of the Aristotle Halikias Family Foundation, he helps to raise money to sponsor exhibits at the museum and educate others about Hellenic arts and Greek culture throughout the United States. He is also very involved with the activities of the Greek Orthodox Church.
Real Estate Ventures
During his college studies, he focused on real estate, an area that he continues to work in. Since 1988 he has worked for the Inter Continental Real Estate & Development Corporation, a full-service real estate development company. Through the years he has worked his way up, gaining more experience and responsibilities. Halikias currently serves as president of the organization, managing all aspects of real estate development. His education has served him well, and his experience within the industry has also aided him with his family’s businesses as well.
Humanitarian Efforts
Another way that Halikias gives back is through his humanitarian efforts. He is an avid hunter who enjoys traveling throughout the United States and Africa on expeditions. One of the places that he has traveled is to Zimbabwe. During his time there he noticed that many of the children lived in poverty and lacked the basic necessities of life. They were missionaries offering assistance with providing them with supplies. On one of his trips, he filled his bags with clothes, medications, books, and school supplies to give to the missionaries to support the children. Aristotle Halikias wanted to give back and help these children in need and knew that this was one way he could make a difference.

Aristotle Halikias will continue to remain active in the Greek community. He is dedicated to protecting the history of his people and educating others about the benefits and value they have brought to the world as a whole. Participation in the Greek Orthodox Church and the National Hellenic Museum are a large part of his life. He will continue to support their efforts and do what he can to bring Greek history and culture alive for others. He will continue in his efforts with the Halikias Family Foundation to support these causes as well.
Family is an important part of his life as well. His family’s businesses have not only provided him with opportunities and experiences to grow and learn from, they have become integral parts of the community. Aristotle Halikias will continue to ensure that they run smoothly and effectively, providing high quality service to the Chicago area. He is always looking for ways in which to further his knowledge and improve the services he helps to provide to others.
