Upon joining Brand.com in July 2014, Chris Granwehr helped remove the manual Google backlink penalty that was levied against the site in just 2 months, after a high-profile SEO agency in Silicon Valley could not remove it.
In just 3-4 months, I helped optimize and move the site Fulfillment.com above 4 Amazon listings for the keyword "fulfillment," on page one of Google, in addition to doubling its SEMRush.com value.
Chris Granwehr is the SEO Director for Brand.com and Fulfillment.com. Chris is involved in executing the SEO strategies for both sites and has a key role in helping drive the inbound marketing initiatives and sales for the sites.
Brand.com, based out of NYC and Philadelphia, is a true game-changer in the Public Relations industry. Brand.com has created a new business model in which Brands can directly commission reporters from established news publishers to craft stories about their Brand. The company can choose which publishing outlet they would like to work with, whether it be the NY Daily News, LA Daily News, Associated Press, etc and approve of the final copy of the story as it is written.
The great thing about this model is that Brand.com is the first company in the space to do exactly this. Allow Brands to have experienced journalists craft stories about them on an established news outlet, all while retaining full editorial control at the end to ensure it meets their needs/Brand’s voice. Brand.com makes this and so much more possible.
Fulfillment.com, based out of Savannah, GA, is a full-service fulfillment company that ships to all 50 states, including Canada and the United Kingdom. Fulfillment.com uses high-end technology to seamlessly integrate with the leading CRM software solutions on the web today to make volume shipping easy and cost-effective.
Having the ability to play a big role in driving both site’s online activities is very rewarding. I am working with some of the brightest minds in both respective industries, and have great leadership and ownership groups in both companies. Sky is the limit when a great team is in place!
Having graduated from Penn State University in 3.5 years with straight A’s, I developed an incredible work ethic that has stuck with me to this day. Never the type to slow down or get burned out, when you work hard and work smart, the results are incredible and long-lasting. Chris Granwehr never forgets to play hard either, all work and no fun is silliness, it’s important to live a balanced, eventful life.
After graduating from college I worked as a private investigator for one year in the Philadelphia region for Commercial Index Bureau. After that I tried my hand in real estate in Las Vegas, NV. To put it bluntly, that venture did not work out. It was that failure that sparked my interest in Internet marketing and SEO in general.
Looking for a fresh start, I moved to Orlando, FL and started working for an SEO agency named Get The Clicks. It was a great experience because within just a few weeks and not much effort I top-ranked for the keyword “Orlando web marketing.” All it took was just trying and believing that the results would come, and they did. From there I moved on to a national Ecommerce furniture company called Factory EStores. This was a great experience as I was able to truly learn the ins and outs of a major online Ecommerce store, while helping drive their search engine performance.
After a breakup in ownership and several layoffs, I decided to look elsewhere and landed an SEO role with Everspark Interactive, a digital marketing agency in Atlanta, GA. My time spent there was invaluable as I was able to learn from a very smart, technical savvy- Georgia Tech graduate, and hone my skills in SEO for some major clients and brands. Having performed SEO on one of the largest NYC Personal Injury Law Firms, the Perecman Firm, as well as global supply chain finance leader Prime Revenue, among other accounts, I gained the confidence necessary to take the next step in my career. All previous successes and failures make up who you are, and I am proud to have gone through the ups and down to be where I’m at right now, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Chris Granwehr is fully focused on the present and the current challenges at hand. Of course, it’s fun and exciting to ponder the future.
Chris plans on becoming married and having children one day, as well as travelling many parts of the world. I have a passport without any stamps, that probably will change in the future. Becoming a healthier, stronger person is a big goal of mine, as a healthier body and mind will always lead to a better life. You are what you put into yourself, plain and simple.
I hope to ride these Internet ventures out until their next major chapter in their business life, whether that be selling the companies or going public. It would be pretty cool to look back on Brand.com and say that I helped bring the site back from the abyss to being a major public relations media conglomerate that is as commonly known around the globe as the NY Times or the Associated Press, that would be pretty neat.
I also would like to see Fulfillment.com grow to expand operations to other countries and make a bigger dent in the fulfillment/shipping industry. With the great leadership they have in place, I think it will be possible to have a major impact on the fulfillment industry as a whole, in a good way, of course.
Chris Granwehr also hopes to be able to contribute more to charitable endeavors that matter most to him. Fighting childhood poverty and obesity, bullying, curing cancers, all donations matter and have an impact. Until then, he is taking things one day at a time, surrounding himself with great people, and praying for the good fortune of those around him.
