Because orange juice can't cure all ills, the State of Florida, Agency for Health Care Administration has a hand in, and an eye on healthcare and healthcare providers in the sunshine state. The agency serves as Florida's primary health policy and planning organization. It is responsible for licensing, inspecting, and enforcing regulations in health facilities; investigating consumer complaints related to health facilities and managed care plans; administration of the Medicaid and Florida Healthy Kids programs; and certifying health maintenance organizations and prepaid health clinics. The agency has an annual budget of almost $18 billion.
