Who we are: Our Mission - Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4), a behavioral health advocate and social service provider, offers quality, comprehensive customer-oriented services tailored to the diversity of its consumers. Our Vision - Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4) will be, and will be recognized as, essential to the wellbeing of the communities we serve. Philosophy - C4 believes that people recovering from mental illness and emotional trauma are able to live, work and thrive in the community. Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4) serves some of Chicago?s most vulnerable residents. We are a pioneer in building hope and breaking down barriers to healing-from the personal to the systemic?through an integrated, community approach. In the depths of multiple traumas for our clients?their personal health challenges, Covid, America?s racial reckoning and huge unemployment?C4 found itself in a management and financial crisis. C4?s Board responded, in June, with a dramatic leadership change. By August 1 all five members of Executive Team were new to their roles. With this leadership, by the end of September we will have: Stabilized, temporarily, our cash position through collection of dated A/R, acceleration of billing and collection, creation of a lines of credit and the sale and leaseback of our North Avenue building. Established a successful reopening plan, overwhelmingly endorsed by staff (76%) Hired more than 30 new staff, the vast majority of whom will be in clinical, client-serving and, thus, billable. Substantially enhanced morale and laid down a baseline and plan for future morale enhancements. Applied for millions of dollars in new, often emergency, grants, winning $400k to date. All of this will be achieved through a transparent, participatory process engaging the C4 Board, our clients, all of our personnel and a variety of community partners.
