The specialty pharmaceutical company focuses on acquiring, developing, and commercializing branded prescription drugs. Targeting the hospital acute care and gastroenterology segments, Cumberland's FDA-approved drugs include Acetadote for the treatment of acetaminophen poisoning; Kristalose, a prescription strength laxative; and Caldolor (ne? Amelior), the first injectable dosage form of ibuprofen. The company also has several projects in early-stage development. Acetadote and Kristalose are marketed through Cumberland's own hospital and gastroenterology sales forces. The company went public in a mid-2009 IPO.
