Schnabel

Schnabel was formed in 1959 as a foundation engineering and construction company in business to design and build excavation support and specialized foundation systems. We still do that today. We have grown from a single office in Washington, DC to include nine offices from coast-to-coast where we now employ over 40 professional engineers who design and manage the construction projects in those offices. One usually thinks of geographic expansion as a means to grow the company, and that was and still is the goal. There was, however, a realization that to understand the soil conditions in an area a local presence is needed. The longtime employees in our regional and branch offices have grown to know the local engineering and contracting community, and more importantly, have come to understand the local geology. Having designed and built-in familiar soil conditions for decades has given us a confidence which is reflected in our consistent competitive pricing.
