The News & Observer

This company has all the news that's fit to print for the Triangle. A subsidiary of newspaper giant McClatchy, The News & Observer Publishing Co. publishes The News & Observer newspaper covering the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill region of North Carolina. In addition to its flagship paper, the company operates about 10 weekly and bi-weekly community papers serving the surrounding region, along with related news Web sites. The roots of The News & Observer stretch back to 1865 with the founding of The Sentinel in Raleigh, eventually absorbed by The Observer, which merged with The News to become The News & Observer in 1880.
