University of Sydney

The University of Sydney, Australia's first university, was founded in 1850. The university has some 3,000 faculty and an enrollment of about 48,000 students. The University of Sydney is one of Australia's key research universities. Originally established to encourage New South Wales residents to pursue a liberal education, the university has grown to 10 campuses. It offers degrees in areas including biology, chemistry, dentistry, economics, education, engineering, fine and visual arts, health sciences, law, medicine, music, psychology, and veterinary science.
