As its name implies, Messiah College is a private Christian college offering bachelor's degrees in the liberal and applied arts and sciences to some 2,800 students in more than 55 majors. It has a student-teacher ratio of 13:1. Its main campus is 12 miles southwest of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; it also has a satellite campus in Philadelphia associated with Temple University. The college (formerly the Messiah Bible School and Missionary Training Home) was founded by the Brethren in Christ Church in 1909.
