This HMO believes the key to good health is cooperation. Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin (GHC-SCW) is a not-for-profit managed care organization that is sponsored by its members. GHC-SCW provides health insurance and related services to more than 55,000 members in and around Madison, Wisconsin. Formed in 1976, GHC-SCW also provides primary health care services through a network of affiliated and independent family practice clinics, as well as emergency care and specialty medical services including chiropractics, obstetrics, and mental health. It also offers pharmacy insurance services and health education classes. The cooperative is led by CEO Larry Zanoni.
