Harvard Student Agencies (HSA) consists of 12 agencies managed by Harvard undergraduates and is the largest student-run business in the world. The businesses, which include several retail stores, a tutoring company, and a book publishing company, were created to provide an additional source of income for students as well as business management experience. The company was founded in 1957 and originally included only two businesses: HSA Cleaners and HSA Dorm Store, which provided students with rental equipment for their rooms including refrigerators and water coolers. Currently, its largest division, The Harvard Shop, has three retail locations in Harvard Square and a thriving online operation. One of its original agencies, Let's Go Publications, has published nearly 50 budget travel guides, written by Harvard undergraduates and updated annually.
