Franklin & Marshall College

Franklin & Marshall College, named after Benjamin Franklin and John Marshall, is a private liberal arts institution serving approximately 2,000 students. It offers academic and research programs in areas including English, mathematics, political science, art, sociology, and environmental studies. The school was created in 1853 through the merger of Franklin College (founded in 1787 with a contribution from Ben Franklin) and Marshall College (opened in 1836 and named after Chief Justice John Marshall).
