Utah State University (USU) has more than 40 academic departments at colleges of agriculture, business, education and human services, engineering, science, natural resources, and arts, humanities, and social sciences. It offers more than 170 bachelor's degree programs, about 90 graduate, and nearly 40 doctoral degree programs. Biology, elementary education, mechanical and aerospace engineering, and business administration are among the university's most popular majors. More than 23,000 students attend its main campus in northern Utah, its three branch campuses, or extension facilities in all 29 counties in the state. USU was established in 1888 as an agricultural college.
